You are what some might call a Contractor.

You'll be told the day, the time, and the route. But how you take the shot — the perch, the rifle, the exit — is yours alone. Morrow City's suits keep the streets “clean.” Somebody paid to clean up a suit.

KNOWN FACTS

What is The Mark?

The Mark is a round-based noir sniper game by Black Syntax. You play the Contractor: each job you study the map (INTEL), slip into the city (DEPLOYMENT), find your perch and take the shot (ENGAGEMENT), then get out before the police net closes (ABSCOND). One shot. One exit.

What platforms is The Mark coming to?

PC first, via Steam. A mobile version is planned to follow. The Steam page is coming soon — join the mailing list at playthemark.com to get the call when it goes live.

When does The Mark release?

The release date hasn't been announced yet. The game is in active development. Wishlist on Steam once the page is live, or leave a dead-drop email at playthemark.com for the trailer, the intel, and beta invites.

Who is making The Mark?

Black Syntax (blacksyntax.com), an independent studio building dark, systemic worlds. The Mark is the studio's first title.

What game modes does The Mark have?

Two: Story Mode — a campaign of hand-built chapters with deterministic maps, authored contracts, and a conspiracy that runs deeper than any one Mark — and Challenge Mode, endless escalating random cities with bigger maps, faster Marks, and thicker police nets.

What makes The Mark different from other sniper games?

The city is alive and voice-first: police radio chatter is fully voiced word-for-word by a cast of officers with persistent identities — one voice, one officer, one permanent unit number. Crowds panic, traffic queues and swerves, parades and motorcades roll, and every round builds to a single shot and the escape after it.

What was that access code from Iris?

She slid it across the table on a café de olla — stuck to the mug, no explanation, no repeat. If you blinked, here's the case-file photo.

A ringed hand slides a steaming mug of coffee across a table; a post-it note stuck to the mug reads 4281.
EXHIBIT — the mug. A number, and no explanation. She trusted you'd work out the rest.
